PANAJI: Aam Aadmi Party leader Puti Gaonkar questioned the BJP government to show the party’s development in Goa for the last ten years.
Citing an example of some projects, Gaonkar said that the huge bridge “Atal Setu” which was opened recently, has come for repair immediately. Further, the Zuari bridge is half-open.
He further questioned whether BJP should show any new industry has come and pointed out that many industries were shut after Pramod Sawant became CM.
He further said that the Sanjeevani Sugar factory issue has not yet been resolved.
“I had demanded that a container hub near the factory should come, which would have generated employment for the locals, but it didn’t happen,” he says.
“Goa’s economic record if we see Goa has gone 20 years backward under BJP govt. Goa has a loan of 25 to 30 thousand crore; is this the development we are seeing,” Gaonkar ascertained.
Further commenting on the Wildlife of Goa, Puti said there was an idea of excluding the residential and agricultural areas from the people staying in wildlife and then to notify the wildlife areas, but this govt has not done anything on this issue.
Land rights of the people from the areas of Sanguem, Sattari, Quepem, Canacona, Bicholim and part of Pernem etc has not been given to them and till today the people have not got their ownership of the land.
Further commenting on the mining issue, Puti Gaonkar said that mining has been banned for the last ten years in Goa, and mining dependents are suffering.
He further said that the Dilip Buildcon company that is building the Zuari bridge, more than 1500 workers who are working are outsiders, and no Goan is getting employment there. This BJP govt is for the crony capitalists.
Gaonkar said that the BJP govt feared the defeat, and the people ave got the opportunity to make a change.
“I appeal to all mining dependents to send BJP home this election only then the mining in Gos will resume,” he said.
He said that govt should make arrangements to keep wild animals at bay, and they should not enter into the fields and residential area of the people.
Gaonkar also cited an example claiming that the Rs.5 lakh is reportedly demanded from a person for LDC post in one govt department.
He said that Goans must take this opportunity to make positive change and bring AAP govt in Goa
