The question now arises if the government is facing losses, why not curtail unnecessary expenses?
But while the common man will take the beating, the State government, on the other hand, is splurging money on conferring lifetime Cabinet status on former Chief Minister Pratapsing Rane.
Rane will be entitled to all the benefits a Cabinet minister gets like security, staff, fuel, car, and perks, totalling about one crore a year. Isn’t this an unnecessary expense?
Another question that arises is this the reason why Mr Rane agreed to not contest the Poriem seat on the Congress ticket? Well, the answer must be yes.

Why are the policies of the government anti-poor and anti-middle class?
Take, for example, today’s Cabinet meeting itself; the State government announced the hike in power tariff by 5 to 10 paise per unit. While the amount when it comes to the bill would not be much as it will be equivalent to around Rs 30 hike for the use of 300 units.
The Power minister Sudin Dhavlikar says that the hike is necessary to avoid losses.
“State government will hike power tariff by 5 to 10 paisa per unit across all categories; The hike that was declared about six months ago would be implemented now to raise revenue so that pending power projects could be initiated,” said Dhavalikar.

Of Course, we do not know how long will this status last as Adv Aires Rodrigues has already approached the High Court, and the petition has been admitted against this decision.
Similarly, if the government is facing a financial crisis, what is the point in giving a tax rebate to The Kashmir Files?
Even if e agree that the film depicts a real picture of The Kashmir Genocide, why give a tax rebate, the director of the movie Vivek Agnihotri has made truckloads of money. And I feel Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was not wrong when he said that the movie should have been shown free of cost if it was so much necessary.
Third, while the government gives no EMI benefit to the water and power consumers in case of huge bills, why is this largesse shown towards the casino operators?
The CM said, “We have given relaxation to Casino industry towards their annual recurring fee, we granted nod to allow casino operators to make payment in monthly instalment but with 10 per cent additional charge”.
If that is the case, give the same benefit to the common man, who finds it difficult to pay the taxes, be it power, water or any other.
The first Cabinet meeting of Dr Pramod Sawant’s second was expected to give some respite to the poor in the form of a reduction in VAT on fuel, but that does not seem to be the case.
The DSSSY beneficiaries, who are elderly above 60, have not received the pension for three months, but the government wants to see that Pratapsing Rane lives with high standards, no matter if the poor do not have money for even his / her medicines.
