PANAJI: Goencho Avaaz Party has expressed anger at Health Minister Vishwajit Rane’s deceitful strategy of covering up his government’s incompetence and mis-management of the pandemic, by denying that any deaths occurred due to oxygen shortages.
Captain Viriato Fernandes, State Convenor of Goencho Avaaz Party said: ‘’Goa is experiencing its darkest days ever at the hands of the BJP. Every day, the BJP government in Goa plummets to new depths of callousness, heaping more and more misery on Goans. Perhaps, this shouldn’t surprise Goans as after all this isn’t a government of the people,”
He further said that this government came into office by grabbing power. They failed to respect the mandate of the people and now they fail to respect the sanctity of life and death. Time and time again, the BJP proves that is it basically an anti-people government.”
“Has Rane forgotten about his fracas with the Chief Minister, which resulted due to the difference in opinion about the abysmal way that the government was handling the second wave, where he even referred to the CM as being ‘misinformed’, for refuting his lack of oxygen claim?,”he said
Swapnesh Sherlekar, President of Goencho Avaaz Party said: ‘’After everything that transpired, it is cruel of Rane to pull this stunt on the people of Goa. However, this appears to be standard operating procedure of Rane’s BJP party, where deception, blatant dishonesty and a lack of concern for the welfare of the people seems to be the medicine ministered frequently and in large doses. Rane’s deceit is an insult to the memories of those who died needlessly due to the mismanagement.
“It is also a resounding slap to all the families that they had to leave behind. Goans will never forget how Health Minister Rane, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and their government failed Goa, at its time of need, which resulted in so many needless and untimely deaths. Vishwajit Rane’s brazen cover up of his incompetency by denying that the the deaths were related to oxygen shortages at the GMC is totally shocking and unacceptable to Goans.’’he added
