MARGAO: Margao Town Police have registered an offence under Sections 281 and 125 of the BNS, 2023, following a road accident reported in the Dramapur area.
According to police, the case (Cr. No. 39/2026) has been filed based on a complaint lodged by Shambhu Das, a resident of Navelim originally from Bihar. The incident occurred on March 15 between 4.30 pm and 5.00 pm.
As per the complaint, the accused, identified as Akhilesh Chawan of Dramapur, was riding a Yamaha Fascino scooter in a rash and negligent manner while travelling from Dramapur Junction towards Dramapur village. On reaching a spot about 50 metres from the junction, he allegedly swerved to the right side of the road and collided with the complainant’s Activa scooter, which was heading from Dharmapur village towards Dharmapur Junction.
The impact of the collision resulted in the complainant sustaining injuries to his right jaw.
Further investigation into the case is being carried out by ASI Santosh Gaonkar of Margao Town Police Station.
