GANJEM: Water suction pump and filtration tank launched four days back by CM Pramod Sawant collapsed today allegedly due to heavy water pressure.
Sources say the suction pump was situated on the banks of River Mhadei and the reason for the collapse was heavy water pressure due to rains.
Due to this incident, the water supply in Pale and other areas will be affected.
Congress leader Manisha Usgaonkar alleged that people’s money has gone down the drain.
CM Sawant had said during the inauguration on July 16 that nearly Rs 10 crore from District Mineral fund were used for the augmented Water Supply System at Sankhali Constituency to ensure uninterrupted water supply to the villages of Pale, Velguem and Surla in Sankhali.
