PANAJI: Revolutionary Goans (RG), which will fight the forthcoming Assembly polls in Goa on the Goa Su-Raj Party banner, became the first party to announce its first list of candidates.
The RG or GSRP today announced their first list of candidates for Polls 2022.
Party leader Manoj Parab announced the list of 9 candidates as follows – St Andre- Viresh Borker, Priol- Vishwesh Naik, Mayem- Shrikrishna Parab, Curchorem- Aditya Dessai, Mandrem – Sunayana Gawde, Curtorim- Rubert Pereira, Nuvem- Arvind Dcosta, Calangute- Francisco Gonsalves and Cuncolim- Wilson Cardozo.
Revolutionary Goans (RG) has decided to join the political league by contesting the 2022 general Assembly elections on all 40 seats under the banner of Goa Su-Raj Party (GSRP). At a public meeting at Azad Maidan on Sunday, RG Founder Manoj Parab said they will field candidates in all 40 constituencies by December 15.
The group, which failed to get registered as a political party, will contest under GSRP with the former’s team to handle the already existing regional party.
Another RG leader Viresh accused the ruling MLAs of trying to sabotage the RG leaders through various stunts.
“We were hurt as time is also running out. We are just two and half months to three months away from elections,” Viresh said on RG being rejected by the Election Commission as a political party.
“Revolutionary Goans will contest election on Goa Su-Raj party name. This is not a seat sharing adjustment or tie-up of any compromise or setting. We will remain as RG but as we need a political party and single symbol to contest an election, we have decided to do it with Goa Su-Raj party,” said the RG Founder.
Revolutionary Goans had applied for registration as a party 7 months back but have not received recognition as yet.
