PANAJI: Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim, Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi, Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola, CES’s College of Arts & Commerce, Cuncolim, Dhempe College of Arts & Science and Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science, Margao registered wins in the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Football Championship 2024-25 for Men.
At Goa University Ground
In the inaugural match, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts from Navelim triumphed over St. Xavier’s College in Mapusa, concluding with a final score of 1-0.
Both teams demonstrated commendable skills, resulting in a scoreless first half. The second half remained equally competitive, with neither team able to find the net until Rosary College secured a goal during injury time scored by S. Fernandes.
In the second match, Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi triumphed over Goa Dental College with a score of 4-0. During the first half, GEC netted two goals, with Aryan Carvalho scoring in the 23rd minute and Ketan Khandeparkar adding another in the 27th minute. The second half featured two additional goals from GEC, including another from Aryan Carvalho in the 57th minute and a goal by Piyush Mawiya in the 65th minute.
In the third match conducted at the Goa University ground, the Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola, triumphed over P.E.S’s Ravi S. Naik College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi, with a final score of 3-0.
The scoring commenced in the 18th minute of the first half, when Manish Gaude from G.C. Khandola netted the first goal, concluding the half with a score of 1-0.
The second half witnessed both teams striving vigorously for victory; however, G.C. Khandola College emerged victorious, successfully adding two more goals to their score line, courtesy of Suyash Chodankar in the 46th and 56th minutes.
At Rosary Church ground
In the inaugural match, CES’s College of Arts & Commerce, Cuncolim triumphed over Vidya Prabodhini College of Commerce, Education, Computer and Management, Porvorim with a score of 3-0. C.E.S. College opened the scoring early in the first half, with Saish Gaonkar netting a goal in the 2nd minute. The second half continued to favor C.E.S. College, as they added two more goals, with Akshay Velip contributing in the 36th and 48th minutes to secure their victory.
In the second match, Dhempe College of Arts & Science, Miramar triumphed over P.G. Goa University in a sudden death tiebreaker, concluding with a score of 6-5 after the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
During the first half, both teams demonstrated equal prowess, each netting one goal. P.G. Goa University took the lead in the 6th minute with a goal from Dutta Nikam, followed by Dhempe College equalizing in the 33rd minute through Shashank Kenkre.
The second half continued to showcase balanced play, with Dhempe College scoring again in the 58th minute, courtesy of Shashank Kenkre. However, P.G. Goa University quickly responded, leveling the score at 2-2 with a goal from Sanvesh Shetkar in the 60th minute.
In the ensuing tiebreaker, Dhempe College successfully converted 6 goals, scored by Shashank Kenkre, Aditya Balekar, Harsh Harijan, Yash Kamble, Kartik Kholkar, and Yash Dhabolkar.
P.G. Goa University managed to score 5 goals through Chrisual Gonsalves, Dutta Nikam, Sherwin Pereira, Ritesh Bind, and Sarvesh Shetkar.
In the third match, Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science, Margao, secured a decisive victory over VP’s Mandre College of Commerce, Economics and Management, Mandre, Pernem, with a score of 4-0.
The first half was characterized by the dominance of P. Chowgule College, which netted three goals: the first by Shanon Furtado in the 3rd minute, followed by two goals from Adarsh Raj in the 17th and 24th minutes.
In the second half, P. Chowgule College solidified their win by adding another goal, with Adarsh Raj completing his hat-trick in the 41st minute.
