CURCHOREM: The much-awaited 225 meters long railway overbridge, which was constructed by South Western Railways (SWR) at the cost of Rs.6.5 crores, connecting the main roads of Baag-Xirford and Khamamoll-Curchorem for the use of pedestrians and two-wheelers was inaugurated by the Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Nilesh Cabral this week.
Speaking on occasion, Cabral urged the people to bear the difficulties for some time for the sake of the constituency’s development. “Sometimes we have to bear the difficulties while undertaking the developmental work, which gives satisfaction and happiness once it gets complete. Some people are there only to criticize, but we have to take it positively as it helps to improve even better ways.”
“The new one-way bridge, which is under construction using the new latest technology, will be completed and thrown open by the end of May this year, and the lying of a new water pipeline by replacing the very old pipelines will be commenced soon after the monsoon,” said Cabral
Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council (CCMC) Chairperson Dr Jasmine Braganza, Vice-Chairperson Rucha Vasta, ZP Member Sidharth Gauns Dessai, Councillors, RVNL General Manager Shashi Bhushan Sahu and other dignitaries were present on occasion.
