FATORDA: Goa Forward Party (GFP) and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to sack his cabinet colleague Mauvin Godinho for his anti people and anti democratic statement.
Vijai was reacting to Mauvin’s statement wherein he had said that that there is too much of democracy in Goa.
“I’m surprised that nobody has reacted to the BJP4Goa minister’s ridiculous comment that there’s ‘extra democracy’ in Goa. CM Pramod Sawant should sack Minister Mauvin Godinho for his anti people and anti democratic statement,’ said Vijai.
He he further said that sis words reflects nothing but sheer arrogance and his attacks on activists who point out his consistent stand against Goa’s interests expose his and Govt of Goa’s anti-democratic, anti-people attitude,” he added.
Sardesai said that he is not only condemning his statement but also asking Goa CM to express his view on his statement and drop him from the cabinet immediately.
GF Chief said the civil society has made a good beginning by calling for a meeting of Goans to protect Goa’s communal harmony.
He also directed his ire at the BJP government, saying the ruling dispensation is only interested in winning elections, saying the government is not interested about the social fabric, economy and the tourism.
“Activists are being targeted as they point out the government is out sell Goa,” he added.
Sardesai also said that he condemns the statement made by Minister Mauvin Godinho.
