PORVORIM: Saligao MLA Kedar Naik raised the issued of poor infrastructure at the Public Health Centre at Saligao.
Kedar demanded that the PHC does not have basic facilities and also there is shortage of doctors and other staff.
Kedar Naik also said that people of Saligao have to totally depend on Candolim PHC for any ailments.
He suggested that there is Provedoria land nearby which could be transferred to the Health department for a full fledged health centre in the village.
In absence of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, CM Dr Pramod Sawant replied saying he will look into issue raised by Naik.
He said that Provedoria land could be transferred to the Health and health centre could be upgraded.
“We want every village in Goa to get the best healthcare. But Saligao health centre is on first floor and that becomes an issue. First we need to look for an alternative place on ground floor and once that is done we can look at infrastructure upgradation,” he said.
He assured Naik to upgrade the facilities soon.
