VASCO: Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar assured to take Council into confidence while undertaking developmental projects in Vasco.
Speaking to the reporters, Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar said that the new Chairperson and the Council should take up the new developmental projects in Port town. The fish market project is ongoing, the Baina powerhouse project has gone for the technical sanction, and it will get technical approval today.
A consultant for the Chief Officer’s bungalow project has been appointed, and the day after tomorrow, there will be a tender opening of this project. All these projects have started, and other projects will be taken up by taking the council members into confidence.
Further, when asked about the delay in the formation of the Mormugao Planning Development Authority (MPDA), Salkar said that sometimes for certain reasons, delay happens, but within this or next week, the chairman of MPDA will be appointed, and MPDA will be formed.
Commenting on the PDAs powers given to the Town and Country Planning department (TCP), he said that sometimes tough decisions need to be taken in the interest of the people, and all should appreciate it.
He further said that the illegalities of zone conversion of lands, frauds, etc., need to be curtailed; if a certain decision is taken by the minister, then it should be appreciated.
When asked about the opposition criticising the TCP minister for giving his personal e-mail I’d for reporting the illegalities related to lands, construction etc., Salkar said that the TCP minister gave his personal e-mail ID to safeguard the complainant’s identity.
