Panjim: Sanisha Sinha, Ishita Colaso, Sachi Dessai and Tisha Shaikh booked their places in the finals across different age categories at the YMCA All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, being held at the Indoor Stadium, Campal.
The tournament is organised by YMCA Panjim in association with the Goa Table Tennis Association and has brought together some of Goa’s promising young paddlers.
In the Girls U17 category, Sanisha Sinha produced a dominant performance to defeat Tisha Shaikh 3-0 in the semifinals. Ishita Colaso also secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Inara D’Souza to enter the title clash.
Sanisha had earlier defeated Alyka Fernandes 3-0 in the quarterfinals, while Tisha overcame Neeza Kamat 3-2. In the other quarterfinals, Inara defeated Gianna George 3-1 and Ishita beat Bretnia Laishram 3-0.
The Girls U13 final will feature top seed Sachi Dessai and Tisha Shaikh. Dessai advanced after defeating Vanlalrinzuali 3-0 in the semifinals, while Tisha registered another straight games victory, defeating Inara D’Souza 3-0.
In the Girls U15 category, Ishita Colaso booked her final berth with a 3-0 win over Aarna Lotlikar. Tisha Shaikh joined her in the title match after defeating Sachi Dessai 3-0.
Earlier, Sachi Dessai, Vanlalrinzuali, Inara D’Souza and Tisha Shaikh progressed from the U13 quarterfinals. In the U15 event, Ishita Colaso, Aarna Lotlikar, Tisha Shaikh and Sachi Dessai advanced to the semifinals.
With four young paddlers featuring prominently in the finals across three age groups, the tournament has highlighted the depth of emerging table tennis talent in Goa.
