PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday announced that the contractor involved in the Kala Academy renovation project will be made to rectify all issues arising from previous tenders at no cost to the government.
The decision follows the recommendations made by a government-appointed committee that reviewed the ongoing issues at the iconic cultural complex in Panaji.
“As per the Committee’s suggestion, the contractor will carry out all necessary rectification work without any financial burden on the state. Once the work is completed, the contract will be terminated and the contractor will be blacklisted,” said Sawant while addressing the media.
He further clarified that any additional works not covered under the previous tenders will be floated as separate tenders to ensure transparency and accountability.
The Kala Academy, a premier cultural institution in Goa, has been under scrutiny due to alleged lapses and quality concerns in its renovation process. The government’s latest move aims to ensure accountability while safeguarding public funds.
