In a tragic accident this morning, a 49-year-old Seaman Vernon Fernandes died on the spot in a fatal self-accident at Rawanfond, Margao.
Three of his family members who were in the car with Vernon, his 45-year-old wife Venia, 10-year-old son and 55-year-old brother Venancio also received minor injuries in the accident.
The speeding car driven by Vernon dashed a parked rickshaw and 3 two-wheelers before it stopped on dashing against an electric pole.
The car, rickshaw, 3 two-wheelers, roadside tea stall and sweet mart shop have been badly damaged.
The accident occurred in front of third gate of the Military camp at Rawanfond.
The deceased is resident of Seraulim and a native of Sao Jose de Areal.
