CANDOLIM: Calangute Police have registered a case of criminal breach of trust against six security guards employed by a private security agency for allegedly misappropriating hundreds of valuable silver artefacts, jewellery items and a Kashmiri carpet from a private property at Sinquerim, Candolim.
The offence was registered on August 4, 2026, at 11.51 am following a written complaint filed by Rohina Mehra, a resident of Gurugram, Haryana.
According to the complaint, the alleged offence took place between March 17 and May 19, 2026, at Kashmir House, Sinquerim, Candolim. The accused, all security guards employed with M/S G4S Secure Solutions (India) Private Limited and deployed to guard the property, allegedly had possession of the keys to the premises.
Police said the accused, acting with common intention, allegedly committed criminal breach of trust by dishonestly misappropriating the complainant’s valuables entrusted to their care.
The stolen property allegedly includes 962 silver artefacts comprising katoras, coffee pots, wine cups, photo frames, lanterns, trays, hookahs, dancing girl idols, boxes, ittar bottles, pots, salt holders, flower vases, shankhs, caster holders, elephant idols, fans, candle stands, camel idols, jaali boxes, lotas and other antique items.
The complaint also alleges the theft of 682 jewellery items, including pendants studded with precious stones, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, bangles, rings, brooches, anklets, chains, crosses and cufflinks, besides a Kashmiri silk woollen carpet.
