PANAJI: SFX Sports Club Camarxete cruised into the semifinal of the Fondegal Youth Club 9-A-Side Interward Football Tournament 2025 with a resounding 5-0 victory over Eklate Football Club in the second quarterfinal played at St Alex Church Ground, Curtorim.
The match began with both teams displaying an attacking intent, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats. However, it was SFX SC Camarxete who struck early, as Velroy Paes found the back of the net in the 5th minute, giving his team a crucial 1-0 lead.
Camarxete continued to dominate proceedings, creating several scoring opportunities while maintaining solid control of the midfield. Despite their attacking pressure, they were unable to increase their lead in the first half, which ended 1-0 in their favour.
The second half saw an even more aggressive approach from Camarxete. In the 39th minute, James Fernandes doubled the lead with a well-taken goal. Just three minutes later, Casvino Fernandes made it 3-0 with a fine strike, tightening Camarxete’s grip on the match.
Eklate FC tried to mount a comeback but were repeatedly denied by Camarxete’s resilient defence. Any hopes of a revival were dashed in the 50th minute when substitute Anslem Fernandes came off the bench to score a spectacular goal, extending the lead to 4-0.
Camarxete added another late goal, sealing the contest with an emphatic 5-0 scoreline at full time.
Casvino Fernandes, who delivered a commanding performance in midfield and scored a key goal, was named Man of the Match.
With this victory, SFX Sports Club Camarxete have firmly booked their spot in the semifinal of the tournament, showcasing themselves as strong contenders for the title.
