PANAJI: Crime Branch has registered FIR against two the Instagram account holders for hurting religious sentiments.
Crime Branch also said that the Cyber crime police has been called in to help in the investigation. The Crime Branch has also said that it will write to social media giant Instgram to immediatley block the accounts.
The Police said that it will also ask Instagram to share certain details about the account holders.

A Twitter account Squint Neon (@TheSquind) had tagged SP North Goa that two Muslim sisters studying in DAV public school, Goa has been abusing Hindus and Hinduism.
“We are requesting @DGP_Goa @spnorthgoa @spsouthgoa @Goapolice1091 to kindly look into this matter,” the Squint Neon tweeted
The acount along with the tweet had also share some posts and instagram account screenshots.
“If any activist from Goa can register a complaint, it would be better,” the account had tweeted
Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code lays down the punishment for the deliberate and malicious acts, that are intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.
It is one of the Hate speech laws in India. This law prohibits blasphemy against all religions in India.
Section 295 of the I.P.C makes destruction, damage, or defilement of a place of worship or an object held sacred, with intent to insult the religion of a class of persons, punishable with imprisonment which may extend to two years, or with fine , or with both.
