PANAJI: The Late Shri Vasudev Sane Smruti Chashak Double Wicket Hard Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament concluded successfully on June 7 after three days of competitive cricket at Path Ground in Savoi Verem, Goa. Held from June 5 to 7, the tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from players and strong support from the local community, making it a memorable sporting event.
The final match delivered an exciting contest as Shri Swami Samarth, represented by Rajat Kudalkar and Shubham Jha, emerged as champions. Their impressive performance earned them the prestigious trophy along with a cash prize of ₹1 lakh. Ganapati Warriors, comprising Sahil Gaonkar and Tanvesh Khedekar, finished as runners up and received a cash award of ₹50,000.
The tournament also showcased several standout performances in the knockout stages. Raunak Cricketers, represented by Sandesh Thakur and Apali Kalangutkar, and Shehzad Royals, featuring Nandesh Gowda and Sonu Sharma, reached the semifinals and were awarded ₹20,000 each in recognition of their efforts.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Adv. Iftikhar Aga, Shri Shivram Parsekar, Shri Narsinh Sane, Shri Shripad Sane, Shri Anant Sane, Shri Laxmidas Sane, Dr. Jayashree Madkaikar and Mrs. Vipula Prabhu. The dignitaries presented trophies, medals and cash prizes to the winners and participants, acknowledging their dedication and sporting excellence throughout the tournament.
