CALANGUTE: Union Minister of State for Tourism and the BJP’s nominee for the North Goa Lok Sabha Shripad Naik, gave an assurance to the people that, should he be re-elected and the BJP form the government, they would address concerns impacted the coastal region.
“In Goa, tourism is the largest industry after mining. Numerous initiatives have already been implemented by the BJP government in the State and at the federal level to support the tourist sector in the State. We will address any outstanding issues throughout the next five years. stated Naik
Calangute Legislator Michael Lobo encouraged Naik to pursue the matter of regularizing commercial structures constructed by natives and traditional occupants of the coastal region by revising the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) notification.
“Many residents in the coastal zone have built guesthouses, eateries, and other businesses, and the authorities are constantly threatening to demolish them.
We have discussed this topic numerous times. The moment is now to alter the CRZ notification to permit some commercial activity in your home, according to Lobo.
Lobo reiterated his belief that Naik would travel to Delhi following the Lok Sabha election results to push for the passage of this legislation.
