PANAJI: Capital city Panaji went in shock after a St. Inez-based beauty products shop owner Dipak Parmar complained to the police that a masked person entered his shop in the afternoon and attacked him with a knife and robbed money from the shop.
Panaji police immediately sent the complainant shop owner to GMC for treatment and started scanning nearby CCTV footage.
Thankfully a CCTV camera was found to be covering the entire shop entrance. After scanning the footage of the given time, the investigation team didn’t find anyone entering or exiting the shop.
GMC doctors also reported that the injury was very minor in nature and discharged him after first aid.
Later, in the questioning, Dipak Parmar confessed that he had just faked the attack as he was having some financial and family issues.
Panaji police is further enquiring into the issue.
