CANACONA: St. Sebastian High School (SBHS), Loliem, celebrated Van Mahotsav 2026 by organising a plantation drive under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, reinforcing its commitment to environmental conservation.
As part of the initiative, themed “A Green Gift for a Greener Tomorrow,” the school received 500 tree saplings from the Forest Department. Of these, 200 saplings were planted across the school campus, while the remaining 300 saplings were distributed among students, parents and teachers, encouraging them to plant the trees at their homes under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.
The programme aimed to inspire the school community to actively participate in protecting and preserving the environment while spreading awareness about the importance of tree plantation.
The Bethany Management, Headmistress Sr. Jenifer Fernandes, staff and students expressed their gratitude to Forest Guard Kusta Korgaonker and his team for visiting the school and donating the saplings.
Thanking the Forest Department, Sr. Jenifer said the gesture had inspired students to value nature and strengthen their commitment towards building a greener and more sustainable future.
The programme concluded with the message, “Plant Today… Protect Tomorrow,” encouraging everyone to contribute towards a healthier environment.
