MARGAO: A Bajaj scooter reported stolen from Khareband, Margao, was traced and recovered in Karnataka following prompt coordination between Goa Police and authorities in the neighbouring state.
According to police, Anant Falari of Calconda, Margao, reported that his Bajaj scooter, valued at approximately ₹1 lakh, was stolen between 10 pm on September 13 and 6.30 am on September 14. The vehicle had been parked in an open parking area near Naaz Hotel at Khareband, Margao.
Margao Town Police registered an offence on September 17 following the complaint and initiated an investigation to trace the stolen vehicle and identify the person or persons involved.
During the investigation, details of the stolen scooter were promptly shared with police authorities in neighbouring states. Following interstate coordination and efforts by the police, the vehicle was traced within the jurisdiction of Ashok Nagar Police Station in Karnataka.
The scooter was found abandoned and is now being coordinated for recovery and handover to Goa Police after completion of the necessary legal formalities.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Sanjay Velip of Margao Town Police Station.
