PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that Higher Secondary students will be able to opt for various combinations of cross discipline i.e. Arts, Commerce and Science subjects from next academic year i.e. 2024-25.
In view of this, Higher Secondary students will not be tagged as Arts, Commerce, Science or Vocational stream students but will be just referred to as std XI or std XII students, informed CM Pramod Sawant.
He said the interdisciplinary concept proposed through NEP 2020 will be implemented by the state govt from June 2024.
Admissions for higher and professional education will then be based on subject combinations, he added.
According to Sawant, as a result, the higher secondary pupils will simply be referred to as Std XI or XII students rather than as students in the Arts, Commerce, Science, or Vocational streams.
He stated that the state government would begin implementing the interdisciplinary idea put forth in the National Education Policy 2020 in June 2024.
Subject combinations will then be taken into consideration for admission to professional and advanced courses, he stated.
