PANAJI: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has appointed senior Congress leader Sunil Kawthankar as the Working President of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) with immediate effect.
The appointment was announced through an official order issued by AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K. C. Venugopal.
According to the Congress, Kawthankar has been a dedicated party leader who has consistently worked to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level. The party expressed confidence that his appointment would further energise the organisation, improve coordination within the party, and expand its outreach across Goa.
The GPCC welcomed the decision of the Congress high command, stating that Kawthankar would play a key role in strengthening the party and leading its efforts to safeguard the interests of Goa and its people.
The appointment comes as the Congress continues its efforts to strengthen its organisational structure in the state ahead of future political challenges.
