CANACONA: Finally responding to his suspension after a daylong silence, Suspended congress leader Janardhan Bhadari in a late night response said, ‘no comments’, and when persistently asked said, ‘Media knows Jana’, media is my examiner’.
“I have not done any rape, murder or theft, there is no show-cause notice also, and why and what is the reason for my suspension from Congress party is a mightly suspense to me”, Bhandari who was not responding to calls and messages finally got in touch as late as past 10 oclock on Wednesday night, first said, ‘ no comments, media is my examiner and media knows Jana’, when TG sought for his reaction on GPCC Presidents Amit Patkar’s Office Memorandum, mentions suspension of five Congress leaders including Canacona’s Janardhan Bhandari from the party “pending enquiry” without assigning any reason.
Entire Canacona Congress leaders seems to be in awe and apt situation following the reports of suspension of their leader Janardhan Bhandari from Congress party.
Bhandari is amonst the five other leaders who are suspended from Congress party with effect from 30th June’2023, pending enquiry. The suspension order dated 25th July and signed by GPCC president Amit Patkar asks Congressmen not to associate/involve with the five suspended persons in any manner whatsoever, pending enquiry is however made public only Wednesday.
Pradip Naik, Khemlo Sawant, Mahesh Mahambrey and Glen Cabral are the other congress leaders placed under suspension pending enquiry against them.
Bhandari a well-known and firebrand Congress face in Canacona and the State over, was congress candidate for last assembly elections. Bhandari is also known as to agitate in different and innovative manners gaining attention for his unique protests, and has largely participated in most of the congress launched protests all over the State and particularly in Canacona.
Bhandari was also at the centre of a successful protest march on the brutality of Women in Manipur by Swabhimani Jagruth Canconkars held in Canacona on Tuesday. Bhandari has also addressed protesters who gathered in large numbers at KTC Bus-Stand, after leading them in the protest march as congress leader. Bhandari also as a senior congress leader alongwith varad Mardolkar, vijay Bhike and others were in the forefront to hold protest march at Azad Maidan to condemn trhe heinous act in Manipur, while a day before met the Registrar of Goa University to reinstate the terminated Goan youths on Thursday.
Earlier efforts to contact Bhandari proved futile, as Bhandari was not attending calls nor responding to text or watsapp messages.
Recently appointed as South Goa District Congress Committee General Secretary Gaspar Coutinho, who was often part of Bhandari’s agitation team in several agitations and protests also refused to comments, stating, “As of now I am not aware of why the party has take such a big decision. I am trying to contact my superiors so that I can know what the reason is”.
Efforts to contact another colleague of Bhandari in his various agitations and GPYC Vice-President Vaishnav Pednekar were also futile Pednekar failed to respond or react to messages asked on Bhandari’s suspension.
Incidentally, Bhandari suspension sent social media on fire, with numerous comments criticizing Bhandari’s suspension as unwanted and comes at a time, when he was doing so much for the party
