SANGOLDA: Saligao Police have registered a case against an 18-year-old taxi driver following a road accident near Yaki Zushi restaurant on Chogm Road, Sangolda, in which the driver of another car sustained simple injuries.
According to the complaint, the incident took place at around 7.54 am on September 13. The accused, identified as Vinod Shivappa Lamani, was allegedly driving an Innova taxi bearing registration number GA-03-W-3949 from an internal road towards Chogm Road.
Police said that upon reaching the vicinity of Yaki Zushi restaurant, the taxi allegedly entered the main road in a rash and negligent manner and collided with a Maruti Alto bearing registration number GA-03-P-9414, which was travelling towards Saligao.
The collision resulted in damage to the Alto and left its driver with simple injuries.
Further investigation in the case is being carried out by Head Constable Sudesh R. Mapari of Saligao Police Station.
