COLVA: A 16-year-old girl, identified allegedly ended her life by hanging at her residence in Colva. The deceased was a native of Karnataka and residing in Colva with her family.
According to police, information was received from an unknown source stating that a female had committed suicide using a scarf as the ligature material.
PSI Nikhil Khajnekar of Colva Police Station visited the scene and conducted the enquiry.
Initial investigation revealed that victim and her younger sister were alone at home at the time of the incident.
The younger sibling had reportedly fallen asleep, during which time victim took the extreme step.
The body has been preserved at South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for medico-legal formalities.
Police have initiated further investigation to ascertain the exact cause behind the incident.
