MARGAO: Congress MLA Digambar Kamat, today reacting to news of him joining the BJP, said that media credibility has gone down.
“The media credibility has gone down; without even asking me, they are running Breaking News. What can I do for that,” said Kamat.
He further said that he has given his karyakartas the right to speak to the media but instead speak to him for any decisions.
“The media should at least call me to ask; without asking me, the media has been breaking news; the media’s credibility has become zero,” he added.
Kamat said that the media should have checked on this rumour to see whether there was any truth to this news.
“There is no control on the news; they are just posting news with properly checking facts; I am with the Congress,” he said.
“I had gone to Delhi with my family for a wedding function yesterday (Tuesday), and today late evening I returned to Goa. I would have not been at home if I had a plan to quit Congress and join BJP,” he said.
The former Chief Minister also blamed a section of the media for publishing reports on him without verifying the facts.
“There is no truth in the news that appeared in the national media on Wednesday evening,” he said. A national channel had reported that Kamat was quitting the Congress and joining the BJP.
