PANAJI: BJP State President Damu Naik has condemned attempts to create social and regional divisions in Goa, asserting that such efforts will ultimately be rejected by the people of the State.
Responding to the ongoing “Ghati” controversy, Naik emphasized that unity remains the core strength of the nation. “We are all Indians, and all Indians are united,” he said, warning that those seeking to divide Goans on regional or communal lines will face public backlash.
“At the right time, the people of Goa will send home those who are creating divisions among the people,” Naik remarked, hinting that the electorate would not tolerate divisive politics.
The BJP President’s comments come amid escalating debates over the so-called “Ghati” narrative, which has sparked tensions and political blame games across party lines. Naik’s statement sought to reaffirm the BJP’s stand on national and regional unity, positioning the party against any form of rhetoric that undermines social harmony in Goa.
