Everyone should remain alert as the targets are unoccupied houses. We fear the houses along the NH66 road are under surveillance of some unscrupulous elements who seem to survey the locality during day-time and strikes at night” We expect, proper patrolling and request to intensify patrolling by Canaocna police and round-up suspicious looking characters frequenting the residential localities”.
According to police sources, fingerprints have also been pressed into service, and the forensic team has found some print material at one of the 3 houses where culprits decamped with gold ornaments, and have accordingly taken up the matter seriously. Police are also verifying the CCTV footage of neighbouring houses and also from the petrol-pumps in the area. A police source also claimed that Canacona police are likely to round up 2-3 suspects as part of the investigation.
