KUNDAI: Mardol Police have registered a case against the driver of an Eicher tipper truck for allegedly driving in a rash and negligent manner and causing an accident that injured two persons at Kundai in Ponda taluka.
The case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by Head Constable Suraj Gaude of Mardol Police Station.
According to police, the accident occurred on August 2, 2026, at around 9.45 am near Tapobhumi Math, Kundai. The accused, identified as Husainsab Ghade, a resident of Chimbel and native of Bagalkot, Karnataka, was allegedly driving the Eicher tipper truck from Bhoma towards Mardol.
Police said the truck allegedly entered the wrong lane through a no-entry stretch and collided head-on with an oncoming Hero Passion motorcycle travelling from Ponda towards Bhoma.
As a result of the collision, the motorcycle rider, Mansaram Rajbhar, and pillion rider, Laxmi Mansaram Rajput, were thrown onto the road and sustained injuries.
Mardol Police have registered a case, and further investigation is in progress.
