PANAJI: The Goa government has revised the fee structure for Major and Minor tourism-related events in Goa as the Empowered Committee for New Tourism Services recommended.
As per the notification, fees for wedding events during tourist season have been increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 50,000.
Similarly, the season fees for Music Festival organized in non-licensed premises have been hiked to Rs 18 lakh for up to 5,000 attendees, Rs 30 lakh if the attendees are in the range of 5,000 to 10,000 and Rs 35 lakh if the attendees are above 10,000. For Night/Handicrafts and Bazaars, the fees are Rs 60,000 per tourist season.
For Events like motorbike weeks, car rallies, non-ticketed music fests, MICE exhibitions & other tourism-related events like youth festivals etc., the fees are Rs 60,000 lump sum.
Incidentally, the fees are to vary as per season. For Off-season, the fees will be 1/5th of season fees, and for peak season, the fees will be 5 times of season fees.
Each year the fees shall be revised by 10% w.e.f. 1st April of each year, henceforth from 01-04-2024, states a notification issued by the Department of Tourism.
