PERNEM: A theft case has been registered at Mandrem Police Station after unknown persons allegedly broke into a hotel room in Morjim and decamped with valuables worth ₹4.84 lakh.
According to police, the offence was registered at 19:23 hrs on April 18 based on a complaint filed by Garvit Singh, a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of April 17 between 2:30 am and 8:30 am at Tender Coconut Hotel, Morjim.
Police said the accused entered the room through an unlatched door and stole two iPhones, a wallet containing debit and credit cards along with ID cards, and a camera bag with a camera and other belongings. The stolen items belonged to the complainant and his friend, Saloni Sethi.
An offence has been registered under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 against unknown accused persons.
