Police have been at the forefront of the entire Covid pandemic. From guarding containment buildings and hospitals to ensuring lockdowns and curfews have been effectively implemented.
Policemen have been standing strong, facing an enemy, nobody truly understands.
With the approaching third wave of Covid set out to be deadlier than before, it was the need of the hour to train police staff to perform their daily duties without getting infected. A session was conducted via video conferencing and was attended by all police officers and staff of South Goa District Police Stations.
Dr Uday Kakodkar, administrator for super-specialty block, GMC addressed the attendees over video conferencing and provided staff with valuable insights into Covid. The session included several topics such as techniques to prevent covid infection, uses of vaccination, co-morbidities and its implications, etc. Dr Uday ended the session with an extensive question and answer round which was greatly appreciated by all staff.
Covid pandemic has been a particularly challenging period for the entire police force and I am extremely proud of my entire staff for the bravery and dedication they have shown.
After today’s session police staff will now be confident to safely deal with emergency situations wherein they may have to expose themselves to a higher risk of Covid infection.
