MAPUSA: Opening up for the first time after the international flesh trade racket was busted by Anjuna police in her constituency, Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo has urged strict action against the offenders.
“Regarding this rackets, I have told Anjuna PI against the foreign nationals roaming at night. I had asked him to maintain strict vigil on these foreigners so that tourists feel free,” she said speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in Siolim.
Lobo said she was confident the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant will deal with the issue with iron hands.
On police involvement, she said that if any police is involved I will speak to CM for strict action against him.
“If police themselves are involved we need to take immediate action. It brings bad name for Goa,” she said.
Delilah Lobo also said that the police constable was at the Anjuna police station for 10 years.
“I will urge the CM with folded hands personnel must not be retained in one police station for more then 3 years. Otherwise they know in and out of the area and how to hoodwink superiors. The one under suspicion has been in Anjuna for 10 years,” she said.
She said that resorts and hotels promoting must be sealed.
“They bring bad name to Goa tourism and stern action has to be taken,” she said.
