MARGAO: Margao Town Police have arrested two persons in connection with an alleged illegal bull fight organised at Sinquetim, Navelim, on Wednesday evening.
The case was registered on the state complaint of LPSI Anushka Parab of Margao Town Police Station. According to the complaint, between 6 pm and 7 pm on September 16, unknown persons allegedly acted with a common intention to organise an illegal bull fight at Sinquetim, Navelim, thereby subjecting the male buffaloes to cruelty.
During the investigation, police arrested Gajendra Sawant, a resident of Telaulim, Salcete, and Tapas Biswas, a resident of Navelim, Salcete, originally from West Bengal, in connection with the case.
Both accused were subsequently released on bail.
Further investigation is being conducted by ASI Dilkush Velip of Margao Town Police Station.
