MARGAO: Margao Police arrested two individuals in Comba on for the illegal possession of over 3.8 kilograms of suspected Ganja, estimated to be worth ₹3.8 lakh.
The accused were identified as Firoz Pathan, a native of Nipani, Karnataka, and Nadeem Gous Bagwan from Belgaum, Karnataka. Pathan was found with 1,863 grams of dry, greenish flowering and fruiting parts of a plant believed to be Ganja, valued at ₹1,86,300.
Meanwhile, Bagwan was in possession of 1,938 grams of a similar substance, worth approximately ₹1,93,800.
Both individuals were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The police are continuing their investigation into the origin of the drugs and are exploring possible connections to larger trafficking networks.
