MARGAO: Margao Town Police have arrested two persons and rescued an abducted man after a woman allegedly kidnapped her husband with the help of two accomplices over a property dispute.
According to police, the complaint was lodged on July 24 by 20-year-old Diya Kudchodkar, daughter of Sanjeel Kudchodkar and a resident of Gogal, Margao.
She alleged that at around 12.50 pm, her mother, Maria Luiza Fernandes e Kudchodkar, along with two unidentified persons, abducted her father, Sanjeel Kudchodkar, from Vasant Arcade Building at Comba, Margao, in a Maruti Suzuki Celerio (GA-08-M-1669) following a property dispute.
Based on the complaint, Margao Town Police registered Crime No. 79/2026 under Section 140(3) read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The investigation was entrusted to PSI Sameer N. Gaonkar.
During the investigation, police identified and apprehended the two previously unidentified accused as Sassir Bin Masood of Maina, Curtorim, originally from Hyderabad, and Shah Ali Saudagar of Davorlim, originally from Solapur, Maharashtra. The abducted victim, Sanjeel Kudchodkar, was also rescued safely.
Police said further investigation into the case is in progress.
