CUNCOLIM/ARAMBOL: Two separate house burglaries have been reported in Cuncolim and Arambol, with thieves allegedly targeting residences while the occupants were away.
In the first incident, unidentified thieves allegedly broke into a locked house in the Demani area of Cuncolim by cutting through the iron window grilles. The incident reportedly took place at night while the house owner was away.
The intruders allegedly used a cutter to gain entry and ransacked the house, opening cupboards and scattering belongings before fleeing with gold ornaments and other valuables. The burglary came to light after the owner returned home and alerted Cuncolim Police.
In a separate incident at Bamnobhati, Arambol, unidentified thieves allegedly broke into a house while the family was away and escaped with ₹2 lakh in cash and gold ornaments reportedly worth more than ₹10 lakh.
The incidents have raised concerns among residents, particularly over the targeting of houses left unattended. Police are investigating both burglaries and efforts are underway to identify the persons involved.
