MARGAO: Two police officers of Maina Curtorim Police Station, PSI Sanket S. Naik and PSI Gaurav G. Naik, have been reinstated into service with immediate effect following a recommendation by the Suspension Review Committee at its meeting held on October 1, 2026, and approval by the Director General of Police (DGP), Goa.
The reinstatement comes following a preliminary fact-finding inquiry into allegations that five youths, including a minor, were assaulted while in police custody.
As per the order, both officers have been temporarily attached to the District Police Reserve Line, South, Margao, pending their regular postings by the Police Establishment Board.
The order clarifies that their reinstatement is without prejudice to the departmental inquiry pending against them.
The decision regarding the period of their suspension, from June 12, 2026, until the day preceding their resumption of duty, will be taken while passing the final order in the departmental proceedings.
The reinstatement does not conclude the departmental proceedings, which will continue in accordance with the applicable procedures.
