PANAJI: Two men injured in separate self-accidents in South Goa have succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim.
In the first case, 68-year-old Jose Rodrigues, a resident of Upasnagar, Zuarinagar, Mormugao, died at GMC on July 29. Police said Rodrigues had met with a self-accident at Velsao in Verna on July 12. He was initially admitted to the South Goa District Hospital, Margao, before being referred to GMC for advanced treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The body has been preserved at GMC for medico-legal formalities. Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Prisly Carvalho of Verna Police Station.
In the second case, 53-year-old Anil Shet, a resident of Alto Bogmalo, Vasco, died at GMC on the night of July 29 while undergoing treatment. Police said he had sustained injuries in a self-motor vehicle accident at Bogmalo on July 26 and was admitted to GMC, where he later passed away.
His body has also been preserved for medico-legal formalities. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Plato Carvalho of Vasco Police Station.
