VALPOI: Valpoi Police arrested two men from Odisha after allegedly finding them in possession of over 5 kg of ganja during a narcotics raid conducted near the Pissurlem IDC bypass road at Honda in Sattari.
The raid was carried out by a team led by PSI Khushali Naik along with police personnel Akash Thakur, Mahendra Gawas, Gauresh Majik, Gauresh Vaigankar, Sulesh Naik and Jitendra Thanekar.
The arrested accused have been identified as Banshidhar Hans (28) and Bikaschandra Hans (25), both residents of Taranja, Tambachhada, Kalahandi, Dharamgarh, Odisha.
Police said the duo was found carrying a total of 5.091 kg of suspected ganja, valued at approximately ₹5 lakh, concealed in their backpacks.
Following the seizure, Valpoi Police registered Crime No. 32/2026 under Sections 20(b)(ii)(B) and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Khushali Naik under the supervision of PI Vidyesh Pilgaonkar, with overall supervision of SDPO Bicholim Shridevi B. V. and SP North Harish Madkaikar.
