PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that uncultivated land for 18 years was brought under 100% cultivation with irrigation in Surla village.
“Uncultivated land for 18 years brought under 100% cultivation with irrigation in Surla village. I congratulate the Swayampurna Mitra for helping and supporting the farmers who came together and formed an organization to revive the cultivation on the land,” said CM Sawant.
He further congratulated farmers and their organizations for the successful transformation of unused land.
“With people’s initiative and support from Swayampurna Mitras, the movement of Swayampurna Goa 2.0 shall continue with great success,’ he added.
Sawant said that Self-sufficient friends, panchayats and farmers made special efforts to bring the 18-year-old farm in Surla village under cultivation.
“About 70,000 hectares of land has come under cultivation today. This is our great achievement,” Sawant said.
