VASCO: An unidentified man, believed to be around 35 to 40 years old, was found dead on Platform No. 1 of Vasco Railway Station on Saturday morning.
According to Vasco Railway Police, information was received at around 11.18 am from the Deputy Station Manager of Vasco Railway Station regarding the body lying on the platform. Police immediately visited the spot and conducted an inquiry.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the deceased is suspected to be a beggar and rag picker. However, his identity is yet to be established.
The body has been shifted to the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, where it has been preserved for medico-legal formalities, including post-mortem examination.
Further inquiry is being carried out by LPSI Laureen Sequeira of Vasco Railway Police Station.
