MARGAO: An unidentified man, believed to be around 45 years old, was found dead on a footpath near the Fire Station opposite the taxi stand at Margao Railway Station in the early hours of July 22.
According to Margao Town Police, information was received from the South Goa District Hospital, Margao, at around 12.15 am that an unknown man had been brought dead to the casualty department after being found lying on the footpath near the railway station.
Police visited the hospital, where the body was preserved for medico-legal formalities, and later inspected the spot. During the inquiry, it was revealed that the deceased had been seen sleeping in the Margao Railway Station area before he was found unresponsive.
Further inquiry into the case is being conducted by PSI Subhash Gaonkar of Margao Town Police Station.
