COLVA: Colva Police have arrested a utility staff member for allegedly stealing ₹62,000 from the cash box of a restaurant in Benaulim.
According to a complaint lodged by Orville Francis Andrade, a resident of Fatorda, the incident occurred on June 8, 2026, at around 12:07 pm at Kodi Restaurant, Benaulim.
Police said the accused, Ankit Gupta, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, was employed as a utility staff member at the restaurant. He allegedly committed theft by stealing ₹62,000 kept in the restaurant’s cash box, which belonged to his employer.
Following the registration of the case, Colva Police arrested the accused.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Prathamesh Mahale of Colva Police Station.
