VASCO: Former Congress minority committee Goa president Nasir Khan and other former minority leaders resigned from the committee, and the committee was dissolved.
Outgoing minority leaders claimed that the state and central Congress leaders failed to support and listen to the minority leaders. Khan said there is poor communication and discipline in the Congress party at present.
During the press conference in Vasco, outgoing Congress minority committee president Nasir Khan said that all is not well in the Goa Congress party. The minority is being used to get votes at the election time, and post-election minority committee leaders and the issues of the minorities are neglected by the GPCC in Goa.
He also alleged that the Goa observer of the Congress party came to Goa as a tourist to roam around and enjoy rather than listen to and review the situation of the minority’s issues in Goa.
Khan also slammed the Goa Congress leaders for using the minority leaders and the people during the election and then neglecting them post-election. He said there is no proper communication and discipline in the Congress party in Goa.
Elvino Araujo, a former Congress minority committee member, alleged that the Congress minority committee members from Goa have slogged themselves promoting and campaigning for the Congress party. But when the time to issue party tickets came out, minority committee leaders were sidelined, which was totally unfair.
Another former minority committee member Sajid Khan said that Minority committee leaders were assured of big things, but in reality, we were used for the election. Our issues and opinions were never considered by the Central Congress leaders. The Goa Congress is also no different and always systematically neglected the issues raised by the minority committee.
