VASCO: Krishna Salkar, MLA of Vasco, inaugurated two newly upgraded transformers in Mangor on Saturday, signaling a step forward in resolving local power supply issues. The inauguration event was attended by Chairperson of the Mormugao Municipal Councilx (MMC), Girish Borker, Councillors Narayan Borker and Shami Salkar, officials from the Electricity Department, and a gathering of local residents.
MLA Salkar addressed the community, expressing his dedication to addressing power-related challenges in the Vasco area. He emphasized that the upgraded transformers are specifically designed to manage the increased electricity demand due to Mangor’s rapid residential expansion.
“We are witnessing Mangor’s growth as a residential area, and it is crucial that our infrastructure keeps up with this development,” said Salkar. “These new transformers are part of our proactive efforts to prevent overloading issues and ensure a reliable power supply for residents.”
Residents in attendance voiced appreciation for the upgrades, seeing them as a positive step toward resolving longstanding power concerns. Chairperson Girish Borker also acknowledged MLA Salkar’s focus on improving essential services for the community, highlighting the need for ongoing investment in infrastructure.
The installation of the new transformers is anticipated to stabilize the power grid in Mangor, offering more consistent power to residents while preparing for future demand increases.
