VASCO: Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar has warned the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) against ignoring the concerns of Vasco residents regarding the illegally installed gates at the up-ramp and down-ramp. He stated that he has already spoken to the Chief Minister and is awaiting a swift resolution.
Speaking to reporters after launching sewerage works at Sasmolem, Salkar, along with Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Girish Borker, ward councillor Narayan Borkar, and others, expressed strong opposition to the gates. He cautioned that if the MPA fails to remove them, it could face a strong public backlash.
Salkar reaffirmed his commitment to Vasco residents and assured that he would raise the issue in the upcoming Assembly session.
On the sewerage project, he highlighted that Rs 12 lakh has been allocated for internal sewerage connectivity to prevent overflow in the area. He further assured that roads in Vasco will be patched up and hotmixed after the completion of underground sewage, water, and electrical line works.
