VASCO: Railway Police Vasco has filed offence against Congress leader Olencio Simoes and three others for assaulting Railway labourers and damaging a JCB by pelting stones at Velsao.
Vasco Railway police register offence against Congress leader Olencio Simoes, Activist Orville Dourado, Francis Braganza and Camilo D’Souza for damaging the JCB used for railway works and assaulting the labourers by pelting stones.
The source in Vasco Railway said that offence was registered under section 143 , 147, 148, 324 and 427 read with 149 IPC.
“The offence was registered based on a complaint by Site Engineer Dinesh Kumar ( 35 ) a resident of Cansaulim, but native of Himachal Pradesh,” sources said
As per information, the incident occured on Sunday at 12.30 hours near Railway under pass bridge at Pale Velsao where the accused along with 10 others with their common object formed an unlawful assembly carrying deadly weapons and assaulted the labours of RVNL Kanai Sardar and Rameshwar Sardar by pelting stones.
Also during the incident it is said that a JCB Machine ( GA 03 R 9241 ) belonging to Manisha Kambli being utilised for Railway double tracking was damaged by pelting stones, thereby causing a loss of Rs 45,000.
The Vasco Railway police station has registered an offence and further investigation is underway ” said the source.
